Job Description
We are looking for a Plumbing apprentice to join our scheme in Cambridgeshire, the role will involve work on some of the most exciting new build projects in the region. You will need to travel to multiple sites in the County so a driving licence is essential for the role,
Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technicians plan, install, service, commission and maintain all aspects of plumbing and heating systems. Plumbing and domestic heating technicians can find themselves working inside or outside a property. Over the course of the apprenticeship, the learner will be trained to work independently and without immediate supervision in an efficient and safe manner. They can set out jobs from drawings and specifications and identify the necessary installation materials. Finally, they will be working towards industry standards and continuously showcasing positive H&S practises. Typical duties include:
- Accurately measure, cut, bend, and connect metallic and plastic pipework;
- 1st and 2nd fix plumbing systems
- Working on a range of equipment and appliances including water pumps, air con units, thermostats, pressure relief valves;
- Waste, soil stacks, and rainwater pipework;
- Commissioning/decommissioning equipment and appliances.
Typical Working Week
40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of 8 hours at college.

- Full Driving Licence & Car is essential for this role

- No two days are the same on the front line and not every day goes to plan, so you’ll need to be quick on your feet to respond!

- Ability to analyse and interpret information and effectively communicate this to different team members and audiences
- Ability to visit different sites and training days
- Curiosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic working environment.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions to serve our customers and protect the environment
- Able to understand and follow health and safety protocols
Qualifications required/desirable
Minimum Requirements
English and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 1 or above. You must have also completed a Level 2 Plumbing Studies Diploma
Desired Requirements
The passion and commitment to become a fully qualified plumber. It will be advantageous if you already have previous related work experience and a CSCS/JIB Card.
Key Training/College Information
K10 will enrol you at Grantham College where you will attend 1 day per week. You will be paid in full for the day you attend college.
Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating course and fund your qualifications through an ESFA funded training provider.
The apprenticeship duration is 48 months dependant on your previous qualifications.

To start this apprenticeship, you’ll need to be:
- Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status
- Not enrolled on any other courses
- 18+ due to site H&S rules
